Engine, transmission and performance 2022 BMW 4 Series?

The same two high-performance engines offered in the 3 Series will be available in the 4 Series. Select 430i models will be equipped with a 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine with 255 horsepower. The 330i all-wheel drive prototype managed a short 5.2-second run from zero to 60 mph on our test track; We expect similarly racy performance from the 430i. Powered by a turbocharged 3.0-liter M440i engine that gains help from a 48-volt hybrid system to make 382 horsepower - 3.8 seconds from zero to 60 mph in the M340i. Our short drive of the 4 Series models in Munich revealed a very sporty driving experience, thanks to the retuned suspension, more aggressive steering calibration, wider rear track and lower center of gravity. We're looking forward to testing the fourth series after it was officially revealed to see how it stacks up against its main competitors, the Audi A5 and S5, the Mercedes C-Class Coupe, and the Infiniti Q60.

The EPA hasn't released fuel economy estimates for the 2021 BMW 4 Series 2022 BMW 4 Series yet, but it should provide similar ratings as the Class 3. Expect highway fuel economy somewhere in the 30-mile mid-range per gallon for the 430i. and 20 seconds for the six-cylinder M440i.

Interior, comfort and luggage:

Buyers might not notice much difference between the 4 and 3 Series cabins if they weren't in the foldable cloth top in the back seat. The 2021 4 Series comes with standard 8.8-inch infotainment screens and optional 10.3-inch infotainment screens like the 3-Series sedan, and both screens are powered by the latest version of BMW's iDrive 7 infotainment software, which combines an easy-to-use interface with a console-console. Installed for ease of use while driving; Those who prefer interacting with the screen directly can do so as both are touchscreen. Apple CarPlay, Android Auto and a dashboard navigation system will be standard while a 12.3-inch digital display integrated with Wi-Fi and a wireless smartphone charging pad will all be optional extras.

While passenger space is arranged distinctly differently within the 4-Series two-door, occupants are treated to the same basic interior design, layout and features as the four-doors - and as fans of BMW's latest interior arrangement, we're okay. which - which. BMW says the new 4 Series will start rolling out this fall, when it will take on other luxury two-door models such as the Audi A5, Lexus RC and Mercedes-Benz C-class.

Fans of the high-performance 4 Series, Gran Coupe sedan or M4 should know that these two models will always be on offer.
