How powerful is the horsepower of the Lamborghini Urus

The 641 hp Lamborghini Urus appears to outperform the 707 hp Jeep Grand Cherokee Trackhawk. However, only one of these outrageous machines has the crown as the fastest SUV we've ever driven at the Virginia International Raceway at the annual Lightning Lap event. For those who can't guess, it's the Lambo, which costs nearly a quarter of

a million dollars. That's the entry price to own a brutal-style SUV of this pedigree. Besides impressive racetrack skills for its size, the Urus offers some things that the Lamborghini Aventador and Huracán don't have: a rear seat, usable cargo space, and towing capacity. While its interior craftsmanship isn't quite as good as its supercar siblings, which is the definition of a fuel crunch, the 2022 Lamborghini Urus is easily the most family-friendly pickup on the planet.

What's new for 2022.

For 2022, Lamborghini has not made any noticeable changes to the Urus. The super SUV is still powered by a 641-hp twin-turbo V-8 paired with an eight-speed automatic and all-wheel drive. The Italian automaker is known for offering limited edition models and special appearance packages, any of which can be added during the model year.

Lamborghini Urus interior specifications.

Even though the Urus costs nearly a quarter of a million dollars, it's still the cheapest Lamborghini you can buy. Add the fact that it can carry more than two people and a large amount of luggage, and it is also the best value in the Italian company's lineup. Our recommended version will play up its very open-minded style with the new Pearl Capsule skin pack. We especially like it in Verde Mantis green paint, which is offset by black exterior details and massive 23-inch wheels. The interior color scheme is set to match. We've added front seats with ventilation and massage functions for added luxury, and we'll be moving to a four-seater configuration that reduces passenger capacity by one but offers electrically adjustable rear seats and heated surfaces. We suppose rich people don't want to ride three deep in the back seat anyway. Other options we choose are the upgraded audio system, the hands-free tailgate, the rear seat entertainment system, and the available off-road driving modes.

Engine, transmission and performance of the Lamborghini Urus.

Powered by a twin-turbo V-8 that produces 641 horsepower, the Urus slams deep when decelerating, and howls completely under full throttle. The permanent all-wheel drive system and the eight-speed automatic transmission combine all this power to enable superb acceleration. In our testing, the Urus went from a rocket to 60 mph in 3.1 seconds and back within the quarter mile in 11.3 seconds at 121 mph. Similarly, Lamborghini estimates a top speed of 190 mph. The Urus looks sporty from behind the wheel, too, with quick steering and steady, high-speed cornering. With air springs at all four corners, the Urus has an adjustable height based on different driving modes. Standard carbon-ceramic brakes ensure the Urus stops as it goes—braking from 70 mph to stop at 149 feet.

Interior, comfort and shipping.

Inside, passengers are treated to a dramatic cabin in classic Lambo style. Jet-fighter design cues abound, with the start button hiding under the flip-up red cap and the gearshift looking like an airplane's throttle. To the left of the transmission are paddles that control the drive modes and allow for customizable performance settings. There's plenty of suede and carbon fiber trim, while the infotainment system and reconfigurable gauges are straight from Audi. The rear seat has plenty of room for passengers and can accommodate between two and three people depending on the seating arrangement. Small interior storage is enhanced by useful door and trunk pockets behind the central floating stack. The Urus also offers up to 22 cubic feet in its cargo area, but that drops by 2 cubic feet with the optional rear seats.
