The All-New 2022 Lexus LX: The luxury full-size SUV is the third generation of Lexus' flagship SUV and the first complete model change in 14 years. It's rich in the traits that represent the next chapter in Lexus, from its powerful design to new engines, world-first technologies and Lexus performance, whether driving on city streets or tackling the toughest off-road. Lexus' commitment to maintaining the original LX SUV's performance is reflected in the retention of chassis on chassis, but in this case while leveraging the GA-F's strong, lightweight global chassis platform. Combined with the use of ultra-strong, lightweight materials in the body, this has helped reduce the LX's weight by nearly 200kg – benefiting ride comfort, handling stability and fuel efficiency without compromising strength or safety.

Two new power units debuted on the LX, a twin-turbocharged 3.5-liter V6 petrol engine in the LX 600 and a 3.3-liter twin-turbo V6 diesel in the LX 500d. Although they have a smaller capacity than previous V8s, both produce more power and more torque, delivered across a wider range of engine speeds for powerful linear acceleration. A new 10-speed automatic transmission has been engineered with ratios that support smooth acceleration to engine rpm and a comfortable high speed.

The exterior design embodies the latest evolution of Lexus' design principles, based on the concept of "gracious sophistication". The robust design is based on a new interpretation of the distinctive Lexus grille, which was presented as a frameless arrangement of parallel bars that show a strong three-dimensional appearance and integrate the spindle shape into the body of the car.
