Tucson offers both a 2.5-liter Smartstream, direct injection, four-cylinder, petrol, 1.6-liter, turbocharged, direct-injection, hybrid or compact hybrid powertrain. The 2.5-liter engine produces 190 horsepower and 182 lb-ft of torque. This engine is mated to an 8-speed automatic transmission for excellent efficiency and acceleration.

How much horsepower is Hyundai Tucson 2022

The 1.6-liter hybrid powertrain produces an estimated 180 horsepower, with a combined powertrain of 230 horsepower. It also produces 195 lb-ft. of torque from the gasoline engine and 258 lb-ft. of torque from the hybrid powertrain. This new powertrain uses Continuously Variable Valve Duration (CVVD) technology that manages valve opening times for optimum power, efficiency and emissions with minimal compromises.

The new AVN-T's 10.25-inch screen fills the center of the vehicle. Hyundai designers have dispensed with physical switches and buttons, so that all AVN, HVAC and HVAC functions are controlled by touch, making it the first Hyundai model to feature a full touchscreen control unit. High-quality, soft-touch materials appear throughout the cabin, elevating the look and feel to a new level, while new indirect vents start from the doors and flow into the center console.

Hyundai has combined the efficient and responsive 48-volt light-hybrid technology with the 150hp 1.6-liter T-GDI engine, which will be available with a six-speed Intelligent Manual Transmission (6iMT) and a seven-speed dual-clutch transmission (7DCT). Another well-balanced option is the 1.6-liter T-GDI with 180 hp, which will be offered with the iMT six-speed with two-wheel drive as well as the 7DCT with all-wheel drive. Meanwhile, a 136 PS 1.6-liter CRDi 48V mild hybrid arrives with 7DCT and either all-wheel drive or two-wheel drive.


A hybrid version of the all-new Tucson will also be available to customers with a 1.6-liter T-GDI engine and 265 PS. More details will be revealed as the market launch in 2021 approaches.
