The Aston Martin DBX 707 2023 is more than just a pretty front end. The 707 Core takes 3.1 seconds and 60 mph to bring the Aston Martin DBX SUV. Sports car companies that make SUVs are a phenomenon that enthusiasts have watched with varying degrees of awe, excitement, and acceptance since the Porsche Cayenne came out. With the DBX, it is arguably - surprisingly - that Aston Martin has been the most successful in transferring sports car design language to SUV form.

How was the design of the Aston Martin 707 modified.
Aston Martin 707.The design of this tested version has been significantly modified, of course, mostly for reasons of functionality. The 707's grille opened 27% larger to allow more airflow to cool the engine. It is surrounded by revised air intakes divided by horizontal DRL lighting elements.
What about the aerodynamic parts of an Aston Martin 707.
There are several new aerodynamic pieces: a carbon-fiber front splitter, revised skirts along the swingarm panels, vents front and rear air vents, air intakes cut into the rear quarter panels, an extended rear diffuser, and a taller rear spoiler window. Mirror caps and side strips are made of carbon fiber or black to match the window surrounds, bonnet vents and roof rails. Fortunately, none of these additions detract too much from the DBX's organic look—although we're not particular fans of the rear air intakes and that prominent diffuser. This is still far from overselling on the Mansory model.
What is an Aston Martin DBX 707 engine.
The boosted power output comes from the same 4.0-liter V-8 as the standard DBX. Of course, the engine is very different: there are new turbochargers, redesigned induction and exhaust systems, and a reprogrammed engine control unit to manage it all. The massage was done at the Aston Martin under the supervision of Ralph Ellenberger, the powertrain engineer, who knows this engine very well, having come from AMG. To handle the extra output, the DBX's standard nine-speed automatic transmission has been replaced with an AMG-sourced version that features a wet clutch package in place of the torque converter.
Aston Martin 707 gearbox specifications after testing.
Aston Martin 707. In addition to faster shift times, the new gearbox adds the Race Start launch control function. Easy to access. In Sport or Sport+ mode, depress the brake pedal and the accelerator pedal at the same time. The digital instrument display flashes a red message to start the race, and when the revs reach 4,000 rpm, release the brakes and have fun pushing it into your seat. We mean it literally - the passenger leaned forward balancing a phone on top of the dashboard to capture the moment, the rushing force pushed him into his seat, and he photographed the headliner instead.
What is the speed of the Aston Martin DBX 707.
In our base DBX test, it jumped to 60 mph in 3.9 seconds and sent out the quarter mile in 12.4 seconds at 114 mph. That doesn't sound too bad, until you know those numbers track the Audi RS Q8, the Bentley Bentayga V-8, the Mercedes-AMG GLE63 S, and even the Maserati Levante Trofeo. Bragging rights, the more powerful the DBX 707 is - which also benefits from a shorter final drive ratio of 3.27:
- 1 - Reduces the 60 mph record time to 3.1 seconds.
- It can reach 100 mph in 7.9 seconds.
- It also broke the quarter mile in 11.5 seconds at 119 mph.
Top speed 193 mph.
However, the brand has also recognized that the last days of internal combustion are no time to hold back when it comes to horsepower. So, while the standard DBX develops 542 hp from the AMG 4.0-liter twin-turbo V-8, the new DBX 707 develops 697 hp - or 707 hp by the more convenient European scale.
