Interior and Driving (Performance SUV) Nissan Armada NISMO SUV Enters the Middle East with 428 HP. Sold globally as the Patrol, this Specialized Armada gains horsepower, an aggressive look and race-inspired interior design. Nissan has introduced a NISMO version of the Patrol SUV in Dubai, and it's for Middle Eastern sales only, at least for now.
How is the exterior appearance of the 2021 Nissan Patrol Nismo.
The Patrol has a downright aggressive exterior with a nice touch from the rear: a rear splitter with integrated fog light that looks almost identical to what you'd find in a Formula E race car from Nissan. The 428-horsepower 5.6-liter V8 is built by members of the same team of master craftsmen who hand-built the Nissan GT-R engine in Japan. This SUV has NISMO badges. Nissan says that for now, this special Patrol, sold as the Armada, is for the Middle East only. And even if it's not as capable as the 523-hp BMW X7 M50i or the 475-hp Dodge Durango SRT, that doesn't mean we're not a little jealous.
What is the special engine in the Nissan Patrol Nismo 2021.
It sounds tough, of course, but NISMO's DNA is more than just skin deep. A team of four major engine builders, part of the same Takumi craftsmen who hand-make every Nissan GT-R engine in Japan, are responsible for taking the Patrol Nismo's 5.6-liter V-8 to 428 horsepower with 413 lb-ft of torque. There is also a double muffler on this model, with real outlets from this wild rear bumper.
How are the updates on the 2021 Nissan Patrol Nismo special.
These aren't entirely new things, a Patrol Nismo with a similar engine was offered in 2015 if you live in the Middle East, but like the updated Armada, these are distinct updates. The Civilized 2021 Armada features new front and rear bumpers and headlights for 2021, with a small bump up to 400 horsepower for the V-8, and the interior has been changed to boot. The new Patrol NISMO takes each of these improvements to a few levels.
The features of the front fenders in the Nissan Patrol Nismo 2021.
The Patrol Nismo has stronger front and rear bumpers. Similar to what was found on the new Nissan Rogue, the custom NISMO front bumper has vertical ducts to move air around the bread truck block. Perhaps the most daring part of the exterior design is the rear splitter with integrated fog lights that look almost identical to what you'd find in a Nissan Formula E race car. Here are the reddish details and trimmings typical of any Nismo model, and a spoiler stands taller than the roof to help with airflow but mostly to give it a look that's too cool for school. The Patrol Nismo will be sold in four paint options: Pearl White, Solid Black, and Metallic Gray or Silver.
What kind of special wheels are in the 2021 Nissan Patrol Nismo.
Although the current Armada offers 22-inch wheels on Platinum models, Nissan says the Patrol NISMO wheels weigh about two pounds less, and has a special NISMO badge. These wheels are sure to eventually find their way to Nissan Titan trucks here in the States for those willing to pay extra to play Nismo costumes. The Bilstein suspension system should help this sporty Patrol stay on the road.
The interior of the Patrol Nismo has what its 600-horsepower Nissan GT-R and 370Z Nismo relatives don't have: modern infotainment touchscreens that look similar to those found in the Infiniti QX50. The interior also features a heated carbon fiber-wrapped steering wheel, larger heated and cooled leather seats with Alcantara inserts, and NISMO front and rear headrests.
The Patrol Nismo may be the size of a Godzilla, but what it has the most in common with the GTR is its six-figure price tag. Pricing starts at $105,000, or $38,505 more than the more luxurious Armada Platinum. But hey, it's still 50 percent cheaper than the GT-R Nismo, and you can put your bike in it.
